Prince and The Revolution get awards for Favorite Album Purple Rain in both pop-rock and black categories and Favorite Single for When doves Cry. They performed Pruple Rain.
After the ceremnoy many artist inlcuding Sheila E went to the A&M studios the record the We Are The World Single. Prince decided not to join and was criticised heavily for it. Instead he gave the song 4 The Tears in Your Eyes for the album.
