Jam Of The Year Tour

This was Prince's biggest tour since the 1984/85 Purple Rain tour, lasting 6 months and playing 65 dates in mostely 15,000-20,000 seats venues and a staggering 26 aftershows, grossing about $30 million. A lot of cities were included in the tour where Prince had never before performed. As was done on the Love 4 One Another Charities Tour ticket sales started about a week before the show to prevent scalping. Venues were booked one or two weeks in advance by Prince's organisation and releasing tickets through Ticketmaster instead of letting an agency handle this. There also were a lot of press conferences/interviews to promote the tour. During the tour money was raised for the Love 4 One Another Charities Organisation and clothes drives were held in the winter period to give to homeless organisations.
During the 2nd and 3rd part of the tour Graham Central Station performed the opening act with a 50-60 minute set. Prince and Larry Graham met at an aftershow on 23-08 which was the start of them working together. Chaka Khan opened on 6 shows. On the 2nd and 3rd part there were more afterparty's than aftershows. The played aftershows were usually relatively short, lasting from 30-60 minutes. Some sets were a bit longer.

The setlist started as a continuation of the Love 4 One Another Charities Tour, but during the tour the setlist changed a lot, mostly based on the mood of Prince or the reaction of the audience. Other songs performed include: The Ride, When You Were Mine, Delirious, A Case Of You, I'll Take You There, Kiss, Cream , Gett Off, When  Doves Cry, Johnny, Get Wild.
