Dirty Mind Tour

Start of Prince's first proper tour as a headlining solo artist. The tour was broken down in 3 legs.
The first leg was a theater tour which had a planned 18 dates, but due to poor ticket sales it was decided to cut the tour short. The two final dates were added to replace the cancelled dates. Teena Marie featured as opening act.
The second leg started in March 1981 when the tour was re-launched as a scaled down version of the 1980 tour where they played small clubs. This was the start of Prince's cross-over from a black to a more mixed audience. This part of the tour was a huge critical success.
The third and final leg was a very small, three date tour of Europe. Amsterdam was the first city outside the US that Prince performed in. These were the first ever concerts Prince held outside America. Not counting Canada it wouldn't be until August 1986 when Prince would return to Europe and tour abroad again.
