This tour was split in two legs, a European and a Japanese leg. Oddly enough he did a series of 16 Paisley Park shows spanning 4 months, known as the Love 4 One Another Paisley Park Performances, in between these two legs. Originally only dates in the UK were planned in Wembley Arena, which caused many fans from Europe's mainland to purchase tickets for theseshows. After that some more UK dates were added, as well as dates in Scotland and Ireland, plus shows in Holland and Belgium. As announced on the Act II Tour "Prince", then going by the Symbol name dubbed as TAFKAP (The Artist Formerly Known As Prince) or simply The Artist, would not play any Prince song anymore. During the 1994 and 1995 one-off shows he played only new material. He also did so on the European leg of the tour, apart from Letitgo and 7. It was also the first tour where he played new songs without an album out, as Warner refused to release The Gold Experience. Compared to the Act I and Act II tour the NPG was drastically reduced with Levi Seacer Jr. and the horn section removed, leaving only drums, bass and keyboards with Prince playing guitar. This was already done in 1994, when there was no tour but only one-off shows.
On the Japanese leg of the tour he played more older "Prince" material, because the promoter wanted to avoid the lesser public attraction the show
had in Europe. Originally the Japanese leg was scheduled to take place after the European leg in May or June and later July. Finally it took place in January 1996.
After the Japanese shows were over, Prince married Mayte on Valentines Day and celebrated their honeymoon with 4 shows in Hawaii, known as the Honeymoon Experience Tour. The setlist was basically the same as the Japanese Gold Experience setlist.
The shows in Hawai were also the last shows for NPG members Michael B., Sonny T. and Tommy Barbarella, although Michael B. and Sonny T. would later play on some one off gigs with Prince again and even perform on his records.
