After the full-blown Purple Rain Tour is was decided that another full tour in the US might lead to over-exposure. Instead they chose to do some one-off shows dubbed the 'Hit 'N' Run Tour'. The idea was simple. Through local radio stations the concerts were announced shortly before the show, often on the day of the show and sometimes mere hours before.
