The Love 4 One Another Charities Tour was done to create awareness for underpriviliged people. There was a food- and clothes-drive at the door every night. You could bring anything to help others. Prince's website at the time had the same name and was advocating the same thing as the tour stood for. The tour was split in two legs, very far apart. The first part, at the end of 1995 took place in Paisley Park. Early 1996 the second leg of the Gold Experience Tour took place in Japan en Hawai.
The second half of 1996 were one-off shows, still following the Love 4 One Another concept, but it were one-off shows rather than a planned tour
In 1997 the second leg of the Love 4 One Another Charities Tour started. This was Prince's first US tour in 4 years,
after the 1993 Act I tour. Again the tour focussed on mostly small venues. The dates were given on short notice, to prevent ticket scalping. Still
some shows were canceled because of scalping. The tour was meant
as a warm up for the Emancipation world tour scheduled to begin in july,
but because of poor record sales and the ending of EMI-Capitol this never
materialized. Although he promised (or threatened) to never play Prince songs anymore, like the did on the Gold Experience Tour, with this tour he started to include older material again.
The NPG underwent major changes after the Gold Experience Tour. Only Morris Hayes remained. Kirk J. returned, this time playing drums. For the first time Prince used a female bass player, Rhonda Smith.
The Love 4 One Another organization is still active.
