Nude Tour

The Nude Tour (Europe and Japan) was his first tour without a new album release to promote. The 51 European shows were seen by 900,000 people, making this his biggest tour in Europe so far. Because of huge competition from other tours and perhaps lack of interest, some shows had to be cancelled due to poor ticket sales and a lot were rescheduled to smaller venues. Unlike the previous tours there wasn't a theme or a big stage setup. It was a stripped down, greatest hits tour, focussing more on the music and less on the show. The horn section was dropped, a big change since their 1986 addition. There were some more personel changes, as Sheila E., Boni Boyer and Cat left as well. After this tour Miko Weaver, and then longest and original bandmember (since 1979) Dr. (Matt) Fink left as well (in 1991). After Dr. Fink left the backing band was officially named and the NPG (New Power Generation), a new that he has used ever since, despite many member changes. The Budokan shows were filmed for tv.
