Parade was Prince's first proper European and first ever Japanese tour. The
setlist was little different than the American Hit 'N Run shows. The show was seen
by 120,000 people. On the Japanese leg Sheila E. was the opening act. The Parade tour also saw the first ever, now famous, Prince-trademark aftershows. Both of them took place in London. Also in London, Ron Wood guested on stage with Prince, in both an aftershow and a regular show in Wembley Arena, performing Miss You.
The
last show of the tour was also the last show of The Revolution. Many of the original members complained of the extra members that were added. particularly former bodyguards Greg Brooks and Wally Safford, turning the band more into the R&B/Funk direction than a pop/rock direction. At the final show, after the last encore (Sometimes It Snows In April), Prince smashed many of his guitars on stage.
