Rick James "Fire It Up Tour" - Support Act

A 9 week, 43 concert, tour supporting Rick James, basically a continuation of the Prince-tour. As well as in dates as in setlist. Most shows were in 5,000-10,000 capacity venues. The shows were often labelled as 'The Battle Of Funk' between Rick James and Prince. Also the press took this on, giving Prince often better reviews than Rick James. Rick James accused Prince of stealing his moves and parts of his stage-act. As Prince opened up for Rick James, it looked like he was copying Prince. As the tour progressed tension was rising between both bands.
